There is no mistaking that life has its moments. From the time we are born, our life is filled with moment after moment of experiences. But as we get older, those moments seem to change. They seem to become more challenging, more difficult, and require more faith. Especially when those moments come in the perspective of following God’s purpose in our lives.

This was certainly the place that I found myself in during 2021. My family and I had recently moved to a new state for a job. I was running an online website that had thousands of visitors each day, but I was facing a moment. Years before, I knew that I had a purpose beyond my current job. I started to become more active in public life. My focus went toward politics and current events. While my attention in those areas was focused on my faith, I completely missed what God wanted me to do.

That led me to the moment in 2021. I was in a church service on Sunday morning and the scripture being used was from Genesis 26. There are a lot of great points as part of this passage, which I have always loved to read and study. But on this Sunday, verse 21 really struck me where it says, “and they digged another well.” A source of water and sustainment for the people, the wells were of significant importance. I don’t know how much more clear God could be to me.

Soon, I started working to build the website for Another Well Ministries. While there may be thousands of websites with devotionals, photos, Bible studies, or many other things, I knew this is what God wanted me to do. I didn’t understand all the details, but I knew that the most important thing was to follow God’s will. Now, nearly 3 years later, I am so glad that I did!

God has blessed our ministry in ways that I cannot explain. We have seen thousands subscribe to the devotionals, sharing stories of how they encourage and help them. Many read our Bible studies, and see our photos each day on social media. When I wasn’t sure I we could reach 100 people who would want to see content from our ministry, God has blessed so that over 1 million have been reached. Best of all, dozens have given their life to Christ as a result of our ministry.

God continues to show us the way. Soon, we will launch our therapy dog program. Our desire is to find others who want to join our ministry, helping us create photos, write additional devotionals, and help us continue to produce Bible studies that challenge and strengthen Christians across the world. But none of this would have been possible without stepping out in faith and trusting God’s plan.

No matter what God wants you to do, it’s always best to trust and follow Him. His purpose and plan are always better. While it is never easy, it has led to joy that I never experienced before. It has led to more moments of happiness for me and those involved in the ministry. God told me that sometimes we need another well. Ever since we started, He has continued to be faithful and bless beyond measure.
